16th January - Report from David Sim - The second event in the RWNZ Grand Prix Series was held at Ngataringa Bay, Devonport yesterday. The event was held in conjunction with the RWA 15km Championships.
The race attracted a field of 11, 2 women and 9 men and attracted out of town visitors Graeme Jones and Matthew Holcroft. These two walked stride for stride at the front of the field for all but the last 3 laps when Graeme pulled away and then Mike Parker moved into second.
Maggie Bradley saw off her only rival in the women’s grade to claim both the RWA championship and the maximum points in the Grand Prix. Conditions on the day were ideal, although the temperature did increase substantially as the race went on. Results attached here. Breakdown of lap times are here.
